Tony Windsor, manager of Radio London and Kenny Everett's tutor, hired me in 1967 to work for Radio 227 on the Laissez Faire. Never got over it.
In the 80's, 90's and 00's I worked for Dutch national radio picking my own music (doowop, bluegrass, old-time, roots, folk, old jazz, oldies etc.)
Play 5-string banjo and bass in two bands. 75 now but still play tennis thrice a week...Yay
